New Life Mission offers transitional housing to homeless women and children. We are committed to providing shelter and investing in homeless families personal and professional development.
The transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency is achieved through five-stages:
Stabilize – Strategy – Strengthen – Send Forth – Support
Each homeless mother we serve is assigned a personal Case Manager to walk alongside her through this transitional process. Through one-on-one counseling, we assist with housing, access to health care, transportation, education, nutrition, job training, and life skills in a safe, residential setting.
Kids Club is our prevention program designed to break the generational cycle of poverty and homelessness. New Life Mission provides safety, stability, and consistency to fill critical gaps in learning. Our Kids Club enrichment program is geared to foster academic, spiritual, and social needs.
At Kids Club, children meet with trained staff and volunteers three times a week, while mothers are in scheduled classes. Children in Kids Club experience invaluable learning opportunities through play and planned curriculum. The abundance of activities at Kids Club include:
Life Skills Education
Each family works with a Case Manager to create an individualized care plan for life skills training. We are a back-to-work transitional program, committed to helping homeless moms become self-sufficient. Classes are geared toward strengthening families and include instruction on:
Other life skills instruction includes:
Our families are offered all the physical, spiritual, intellectual tools and resources needed to get out of poverty, off government assistance, and create a better future for themselves and their children.
New Life Mission moms have earned their GEDs, some have been licensed in the fields of Cosmetology, EKG/Phlebotomy, Medical Coding & Billing, Massage Therapy, Insurance, Child Care, Medical Assistance, Certified Nursing Assistance, and other careers.
More than 90% of our graduates have continued their living wage jobs and remain part of the New Life Mission family. Many alumnae return to offer encouragement to our new students.
We help our students find the courage and strength to leave their past behind and rise into a new life.
We are deeply committed to sharing the Truth of the Gospel message with our students. Through loving discipleship, compassionate care, prayer, and bible study, we encourage students toward a personal, loving God who wants to heal and prosper their lives.
