Stacia Glavas, Founder & President of New Life Mission, is compassionate about using her skills and resources in redirecting families towards hope and transformation. Glavas holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and is a former Assistant Pastor of Georgianna United Methodist Church in Merritt Island. After starting her career in Capitol Hill in the 1980s, she became a successful entrepreneur for over 20 years in a business that employed more than 150 people.
Joan Berry Nassar is an attorney practicing exclusively in the area of family law. She is a Supreme Court Family and Appellate Mediator, guardian ad litem and is trained in the collaborative practice. She supports New Life Mission by assisting the residents with their family law matters. Joan has been an adjunct instructor at Eastern Florida State College, a long time member and ultimately President of the Vassar B. Carlton Inn of Court, a local legal organization that promotes civility and professionalism among lawyers, and a frequent speak on the issue of family law matters. She was a recipient of the First Annual Young Lawyers Professionalism Award from the Brevard County Bar Association, and more recently, the Third Annual J. Preston Silvernail Civility Award for “Commitment to Excellence in the Practice of Law and the Respectful and Courteous Treatment of All People and for Conducting Oneself in a Way That Brings Honor to the Legal Profession”. Joan enjoys reading, traveling and watching God’s amazing work through New Life Mission.
Colleen AmgottVice Chair
Colleen is a graduate of D’Youville College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, followed by a Master’s degree in Business and Health Services Management from Florida Tech. She enjoyed practicing nursing in the Critical Care setting, where she was head nurse of a busy medical intensive care unit. Later, she became Projects Manager of Patient Care Services at Wuesthoff Hospital.Colleen is very involved in the Melbourne community and in her church, serving in many capacities. She has enjoyed volunteering with Junior League, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, Family Promise, Children’s Home Society, and has chaired the Hospital Ball.Founder and facilitator of Women of Faith bible study at Ascension Catholic Church, she also has assisted with youth group activities, retreats, and is an Alpha core team organizer.Colleen has resided in Melbourne since 1985. She and her husband Ted have two wonderful children. Some of her personal interests include: gardening , water aerobics, traveling, spending time with family and cooking for a large crowd.
Joan has been an active member of the Brevard Community for 36 years. She received her BA degree from Duke University and her JD degree from the University of Florida. After several years at the State Attorney's Office, Joan retired to raise a family and manage three self- storage facilities. She has been active with Holy Trinity Academy, PREVENT! Of Brevard, the Brevard Art Museum, and Brevard Neighborhood Development Coalition. Joan and her husband Scott (Sorensen Moving and Storage) have two adult children and three grandchildren.
Robert (Rob) L. Broline Jr. is a Partner for a Top 25 Accounting Firm in Melbourne – Carr, Riggs, & Ingram, LLC. Rob is a certified public accountant and a certified construction auditor. Rob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), and the National Association of Construction Auditors (NACA). Rob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Cedarville University in Ohio. Rob also holds a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Theology and was an ordained pastor for about 8 years. Rob and his family are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Rob and his wife have two daughters. Rob is an outgoing optimist, non-fiction reader, sports enthusiast and beach lover. Rob is excited to have a part in serving those in need in the Brevard community.
Joshua Adams, the Head Honcho at Rock Paper Simple, started programming at 11 years old and began his freelance web career at 14. As a result of working with over 750 clients, he has become an expert in the fields of web development, digital marketing, and branding. Joshua founded Rock Paper Simple in 2013 with the vision of empowering businesses who are awesome at what they do by developing their brand and digital presence. Joshua serves on the board of directors for Founders Forum, Space Coast Early Intervention Center and New Life Mission. He was honored as a finalist of LEAD Brevard’s “4 under 40” award three years in a row (2016-2018) and as a semifinalist in the Bright House Networks Regional Business Awards (2016). He and his team earned the Business Acceleration Award (2017) and twice-earned the Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce Business Champion of the Year award (2011 & 2018). Rock Paper Simple has also proudly racked up Addy awards every year, including Judges Choice and Best of Show in 2018. He is never satisfied with the status quo and is always working hard to find the simplest, but most effective ways to create results for his clients and ventures. You will frequently hear him say “Ever Forward!”as he believes the best option is always, always to move forward. He lives to empower talented people and dedicates his work in every endeavor to the glory of God.
Ed Hecker grew up in Cocoa Beach and graduated from Cocoa Beach High School before heading off to Florida Southern College in Lakeland. He has seen lots of changes over the years, but you can say this is home for Ed and his family. He's been a part of the financial services community for over 31 years and now serves as the Director – Branch Manager for Stifel Financial Services in Melbourne. Ed is a Certified Financial Planner® and works with families and individuals in this area. He has worked with youth for over 20 years and served as a worship leader for over 13 years. He is currently an active member of Calvary Chapel Melbourne and attends the Viera Campus, where he is part of the Men's leadership team. Ed is married to Janet, his wife of over 28 years, and has two grown daughters and a grandson, born in early 2016. He is an avid golfer, sings, plays guitar and loves snow skiing.
Sara Hawks HoustonDirector
Sara Hawks Houston is the owner of “Sara Hawks Houston State Farm Agency” located in Viera, Florida. She is a Florida native, born and raised in Merritt Island, and followed in her dad’s footsteps by opening her own State Farm agency. Sara now lives in Satellite Beach with her two wonderful children, Sienna (14) and Grady (12). They are members at Georgianna United Methodist, the same church that Sara attended as a child and youth. She is a proud graduate of University of Central Florida (UCF) with degrees in Business and Marketing, as well as Early Childhood Education. Sara is extremely passionate about being involved in her community and giving back within and around the Brevard County area. She thoroughly enjoys working with and mentoring professional selling and business students at UCF and Florida State University (FSU) as well as the Business Academy at Viera High School. She served on Brevard Beachside Soccer Club board and currently serves as a member on the Viera Safety Alliance board as well as being a member of the Cocoa Beach and Melbourne Chambers of Commerce. When she’s not helping her clients with their insurance and financial service needs, she loves spending time with her children, being involved with her children’s sports, traveling, fishing, spear fishing, diving, snow skiing and all things water with great friends and family.
Jennifer Kriete is the former Director of the Eastern Florida State College Foundation, Inc. Jennifer graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She then continued her education at University of Central Florida where she received her Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management.Jennifer began her career as an elementary school teacher. While raising her own children, she became involved in volunteer and philanthropic work. She has volunteered with many organizations, most notably Junior League of South Brevard, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Changes Lives Now, Inc., and Amani Ya Ju. She also was a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Florida Council of Resource Development, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the Brevard Estate Planning Council. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce and The Mission on the Mountain, Brevard, NC.Jennifer is married and has two children and 4 granddaughters. She lives in Indialantic, Florida. She loves to exercise, play tennis, and travel.
Rob is a Shareholder with Dean Mead, Attorneys at Law, and practices in their Viera office. His professional focus consists mostly of estate planning, transfer tax planning, estate and trust administration and asset protection planning. Rob, a graduate from University of Florida’s Levin College of Law, is certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in the area of Wills, Trusts and Estates, and has extensive experience working with high net worth individuals. He has served as a Board Member at several other local charitable organizations in addition to New Life Mission. Rob and his wife, Michelle, have five children and are active parishioners at Ascension Catholic Community.
Kathryn Paulk has been a Certified Public Accountant for 34 years has worked as an auditor, tax accountant, small business advisor, and court expert. She is pleased to bring her expertise to the board of New Life Mission. Kathryn is a native of Brevard County, has been married to (Circuit Judge) George Paulk for 39 years, and together they have successfully raised four grown children. She lives in Merritt Island and currently attends East Coast Christian Center. Kathryn feels honored to have the opportunity to support and serve NLM with its life-changing impact on the lives of women and their children.
Natasha Cartagena SpencerDirector
Natasha Cartagena Spencer is the Senior Vice President of Shelter Mortgage Company, a direct residential mortgage lender in our local Space Coast. She is married to Brian Spencer, Sr. Mortgage Specialist who services Dale Sorensen Real Estate of Brevard, as their preferred lender. They have been residents of Brevard for over 16 years and are proud to call the Space Coast their home. Natasha is very much entrenched in philanthropic efforts. If it's not championing the message "It's a Hand Up, not a Hand Out" on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Brevard or fostering work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy in Brevard Schools on behalf of Junior Achievement of the Space Coast; she is a hands on volunteer who believes in her commitment to the ultimate outcome, breaking the cycle of homelessness, dependency and fostering education. She truly believes as leaders in our community, we need to inspire change and actively engage. Natasha has been an avid supporter and contributor to NLM since 2012.

Rob BecknerDirector 2014-2019
Robert Beckner is a partner in the real estate company, Lightle Beckner and Robison. Before Rob's career in commercial real estate, he spent four years in retail sales management, including managing a staff of over fifteen people, negotiating purchases for products, and satisfying clients' needs. Rob's professional services focus primarily on the successful marketing of commercial real estate in East Central Florida and tenant representation throughout the state. Rob rarely turns down the opportunity to spend time with clients and makes extra efforts to solidify a relationship of trust and respect. He is a lifetime follower of Christ, an Eagle Scout, a Florida Iron Man competitor (2010), and a dedicated husband and father of two children.
Pennie DiPrimaDirector 2010-2015
A 30-year resident of Brevard County, Pennie DiPrima has spent nearly 25 years working in the non-profit and healthcare fundraising sector, lending her talents to organizations such as Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After retiring in 2006, she continues her love for helping others by volunteering on several community boards and committees, in addition to fundraising consulting, DiPrima is also is a fashion consultant for ETCETERA, a New York-based designer of women's clothing. Her agency, Sassy Chic, hosts four seasonal trunk shows a year.
Chris HughesDirector 2013-2018
Chris, a Professional Engineer as well as Certified Electrical Contractor brings his construction Chris, a Professional Engineer, as well as a Certified Electrical Contractor. He brings his construction expertise to our NLM family. His ongoing work as a community volunteer has been primarily focused on the realm of veteran services. Chris is a decorated veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and is a Service Disabled Veteran. New Life Mission is grateful for the time and talent he will bring to our mission! His experiences and knowledge will help support the continued growth and development of New Life Mission.
Teresa McNeightDirector 2014-2019
Teresa has lived in the beachside area since 1965 and is a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School and Melbourne Central Catholic High School. Teresa has been married to Rick for 31 years, and they have three beautiful children. She has earned an A.S. Degree in Dental Hygiene from Palm Beach State College and has a B.S. Degree from the University of Central Florida. She is very involved in her community and church, serving in many capacities in the following organizations: Brevard County Dental Hygiene Society, Junior League of South Brevard, Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic, Holy Name of Jesus School Board, and The Haven for Children. Her interests include tennis, waterskiing, snow skiing, travel, and reading.
Brian WestDirector 2012-2017
As a Brevard County native of Rockledge, Brian has worked in the Insurance and Financial Services field for over fifteen years. He attends Church at Viera and is married with two beautiful children. Brian is a State Farm Agent in West Melbourne, where he has served the community for ten years. New Life Mission is grateful for Brian West's experience and expertise that will help support the continued growth and development of New Life Mission.
