About our Children’s Program
When children arrive at New Life Mission, they often carry the effects of housing instability, family crisis and interrupted routines with them. Our Children’s Program provides a safe, nurturing environment where kids can learn, play and thrive while their mothers work toward self-sufficiency.
While in our daycare or after school program, children experience:
- Healthy meals and snacks
- Educational activities and tutoring
- Outdoor play and recreation
- Arts, crafts and enrichment activities
- Field trips and special events
More than Childcare
Our Children’s Program is a no-cost, on-site childcare center serving the children of families in our residential program. By removing the barrier of childcare, mothers can pursue employment, education, counseling and life-skills training knowing their children are safe and cared for.
Why it Matters
For many children, New Life Mission’s Children’s Program provides much-needed stability during a season of transition. Through loving relationships, positive routines and Christ-centered care, children gain the support they need to grow emotionally, socially, and academically.
From Silence to Smiles: Kassius’ Transformation
Kassius came to our Children’s Program unable to speak, overwhelmed by trauma, and filled with fear. Today, he’s talking, learning, and building friendships–proof that healing is possible when a child is given a safe space and consistent love.
At New Life Mission, we know that when a child begins to thrive, so does their mother. Our holistic approach helps break generational cycles of homelessness by addressing the emotional, developmental, and academic needs of every child in our program.
Kassius is no longer the angry, panicked little boy we first met. With his mother now a graduate of our program, he’s a testament to what families can accomplish together once children feel safe and protected.
We are always looking for volunteers to help in our Children’s Program. Apply here.
